10 Steps to Buying a New Home
Have you been thinking about buying a home, and you’re not sure where to start?
You’re not alone
Here’s a guide with 10 simple steps to follow in the home buying process
#1 Save for your down payment. Create a budget, and create a plan. There are multiple low money down payment options available, and sometimes even 100% financing options.
#2 Is to know your credit score. Learn what your score is, and pay off any outstanding debts. For an idea on the best ones to pay, speak with a lender and they can help advise you on that.
#3 Find a Real Estate agent!

A real estate agent is going to help guide you through the process and protect your best interest. It’s also important to make sure you feel comfortable with whomever you’re working with
#4 Get pre-approved. Differentiate yourself in offer situations by having that pre-approval and also understand from both a monthly payment standpoint and a purchase price what you can really and comfortably afford.
#5 Time to go shopping!
#6 It’s time to make an offer. Work with your Realtor on the best price, terms, and contingencies, to put you in the best position for success.
#7 Is to have a home inspection. This is to uncover any surprises or hidden defects that you may not have been aware of at the time of an offer. If any of those items do come up, work with your agent to negotiate those items with the seller.
#8 is to have an appraisal done, and this is done by the bank to make sure that your appraised value is equal to or hopefully even greater than your purchase price.
#9 is to close the sale. That day we’ll do a final walkthrough to make sure that the house is as you’d expect it, and once you’ve done that we’ll head to the closing to finalize all of those documents, and best of all (while catching a set of keys) you’ll get the keys
#10 and the absolute best part, is to move in and celebrate!
