Paint & Home Decor: Perk up that drab room with a lighter color. Try painting the front door an eye popping color. Switch out some of your home accents (pillows, vases, picture frames, etc) for new on trend pieces. A big trend for 2018 is mixing metallics with bold colors. Hint: the 2018 Pantone color of the Year is Ultra-Violet ~ throw some purple in the mix ๐Ÿ’œ

Bathroom Freshen Up: This can be a simple or a big project. Take a look at your grout, see if it needs any repairs or cleaning. Replace fluorescent lighting, which gives your skin an unhealthy cast; consider updating your light fixtures to ones that give a more natural, bright appearance. Replace towels, shower curtains, and bathroom accessories for a fresh look. While you're at it, clean out your medicine cabinet and get rid of old products that you no longer use. ๐Ÿ›€๐Ÿผ

Closet organization: If you're tight on closet space or if your closets are simply over flowing, clean them out! A good rule of thumb is if you haven't worn or used it in a year, or it doesn't fit, get rid of it. Many organizations will come right to your home to pickup any unwanted items. If it needs to be repaired, either fix it or find someone who can.

Once you have everything weeded out, consider how it's going back in. Do you need storage containers, more hanging rods or more shelving? Do you have enough hangers? There are many organization options in the marketplace to help you make the best use of your storage space. ๐Ÿ‘—๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘ž๐Ÿ‘”

Lighten Up: With the shorter days, the indoor light is dimmed. You can do several things throughout the house to brighten it up. Before changing out fixtures and lamps, consider removing screens from your windows that can dim the winter light, clean your windows, and change out heavy draperies with Roman shades to let more sun in. Replace old incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs. Hang mirrors to allow the light to bounce around the room. Replace dark lamp shades with white, ivory, or metallic ones for more luminosity. Same goes for fixtures, change out the globes for more translucent ones or give them a good cleaning.  Also, decluttering surfaces of stuff will help lighten the atmosphere. ๐Ÿ’กโ˜€๏ธ

Create a quiet space: Everyone needs a space to relax in with a good book, to meditate, to knit, listen to music, or daydream. It can be in the corner of a room if your space is limited. Arrange the area with a comfortable chair or cushions, a table and/or bookshelf, and anything you that brings you joy (pictures, books, candles, music, plants, vase of flowers, etc). Use this nook just for you and your peace of mind. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ•ฏ๐Ÿ’
